O'Connell Software's Ingredient Evaluation and Tracking System is a Java web based solution for tracking ingredients used in food products.  It allows the lab to immediately see what the supplier said the ingredient specifications were, what the corporate standards are, and what the lab found in the testing.  The system automatically brings up the necessary lab tests that are need for each and every type of ingredient used.  Failure to run one of the required tests makes the ingredient lot unavailable for use in production.   A company can track a given suppliers ingredients based on acceptance, rejected or pending within a time range.  Likewise, should a problem occur the company can verify what tests were done on the ingredient, what date, by who approved the lot, and what lab tests were run and posted.
